The Spies in the American Revolution
Spies in the Revolution were an essential need. many were men enlisted in the war, but they were not the only ones that contributed. The Revolutionary women also acted as an alliance for the troops. There were also African American patriots who spied for their armies. The spies would carry messages, in invisible ink. they would meet with their leaders and give them information. They often caused much treason by spying, which in some cases caused casualties.
the introduction to spies was the turning point in the war. These regiments often brought back information about artillery and other helpful ideas about the loyalists plans.the spies helped with finding out whether or not the loyalists were really loyal or not. also whether or not they would've deserted their army if it meant that they could survive.

Sneaky spies; Letters
The spies would often use invisible ink, which could only then be revealed by a certain chemical. The receiver of the letter would then have to use this chemical to reveal the hidden message under neath, which could often be very important to the war victory.
